Open Lecture: ‘Silence as Gift?’

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Luther King House

Luther King House
Brighton Grove
M14 5JP

Led by Dr. Alison Woolley

Our evening together will introduce us to chosen practices of silence, evidencing its potential for profound relational transformation from the spiritual journeys of Christian women today. It will invite us to re-examine silence’s role in developing increasingly authentic selfhood, self-emptying and more responsible relationality within our lives.

Luther King House is delighted to welcome Dr. Alison Woolley. Alison the the Director of ‘Seeds of Silence‘ and completed her PhD on contemporary women’s spiritual practices of silence. Her research is rooted in feminist practical theology and her recently published book is entitled ‘Women Choosing Silence’.

The lecture will run from 7.30pm until 9pm. Refreshments will be served from 7pm, followed by the lecture.

A pdf leaflet for you to download, print and distribute is available by clicking here.

This is a free event although confirmation of attendance is recommended as it would be helpful for us to have numbers.

To register or for further details please contact Luther King House by e-mail or by telephone on 0161 249 2504.
