Luther King House
Luther King House,
M14 5JP, UK
Based in Manchester, Luther King House is an inclusive Christian theological college with a gay affirmative ethos, which welcomes students from the LGBTQ+ Christian community. We seek to build a learning community in which diversity is valued and all are welcomed and supported (see our Ethos statement), and we have students participating on our courses from a number of gay friendly churches, including the Metropolitan Community Church in Manchester. We are an ecumenical college, with students from many different Christian churches and traditions.
We offer inclusive Christian theology courses which cover multiple aspects of Christian theology, mission, ministry, spirituality and discipleship, including biblical studies, worship, preaching, pastoral care, mission studies, interfaith engagement, liberation theologies (including queer theology, feminist theology and body theologies), church leadership issues and much more.
Study contextual theology with us through our BA or MA in Contextual Theology degree programmes, or attend just one or more individual modules for personal interest. We also offer a wide variety of other events which are open to all, at very affordable prices, through our Open Learning Programme. Our varied timetabling patterns allow for flexible study arrangements, so whether you are looking to study part-time or full-time, and whether you are new to Christianity or an experienced church leader, there’s something to suit everyone’s interests.
SLC loans and grants are available for eligible full time and part time students on our degree courses.
For more information about any of our courses and events, please check our website or contact the LKH Registry Office, and we’ll be happy to help!
