Study Postmodern and Liberation Theologies at LKH

LKH is an inclusive, welcoming theological college in the heart of Manchester, committed to God’s call to seek justice and peace in the world around us.

You can study a wide variety of Christian liberation theologies, such as feminist theology, pro gay LGBT and queer theology, body theologies, eco-theology, postcolonial theology and other postmodern theologies and radical theologies, as well as more traditional theologies, to help you develop an integrated understanding of theology and faith that is relevant to the real world.

We offer a range of theology, Christian spirituality and biblical studies courses, to suit all interests, abilities and levels of experience, from introductory to advanced, so whether you are an experienced minister or church leader, or new to Christianity and the Bible, our college has a course at the right level for you.

You can study just one module, for your own personal interest or professional development, or you can apply to study a broader range of modules from our BA or MA degree programmes in Contextual Theology, to gain an academic qualification (MA, BA, Diploma or Certificate in Contextual Theology). It is also possible to complete a doctoral degree (PhD or MPhil) in Contextual Theology with us.  All our degree programmes are validated by the University of Manchester.

Our courses are flexible and affordable, with part time and full time study options, and SLC loans and grants are available for eligible students on our degree courses.

If you want to focus on one particular aspect of theology in greater depth, our individually guided Explorations independent study programme, enables you to tailor your reading and research with tutorial support from an expert in your specific field of interest. This includes 6 months’ full membership of our library.

To enrol on any of our  courses, or our Explorations programme, complete and return our module registration form, or for more information about these and other theology courses and events on offer at Luther King House, see our Open Learning Programme, or contact the LKH Registry Office.
